Mice mountain

After seeing a mouse three different times in my apartment (I choose to think of it as just one mouse rather than a growing family), the name Parc Montsouris evoked too many unpleasant images. But a nearby bakery beckoned, and the park was on the way.

It’s actually a beautiful park that looks exactly like Parc Buttes-Chaumont (same designer). And no rodents were spotted. To one side, a small cobblestone street leads up a little hill, with houses packed tightly together covered in huge bushy ivy plants.photo 3 photo 4

Near the end of the street a Swiss-chalet-like wooden house stands out. A laminated sign hung on the gate says it was built in 1923, inspired by the wooden houses of the Marais.

Just beyond is a white cube house by Le Corbusier. <– That link has much more beautiful pictures of it than I could produce.
